Bomb prices for lunch combo with miso soup. I reccommend the pork tonkatsu, because the fry and the sauce were amazing. I added the sashimi as well to finish off with some great pieces of raw fish.
Would definitely reccommend to anyone in the area and service was fantastic as well. -

Was in our Oakland office working with my department and we all wanted sushi. I used Google Maps to find nearest sushi and Ichiro was just a block away. The Google Maps listed it with a 4.5 star rating.
My coworker pointed out that Yelp only gave it 3.5 and some complained of food poisoning and quality of fish. We all said let's try it and I thought a lot of people can be too picky.
It was a small place, packed with people, so good sign. The service was quick and our waitress had a sense of humor. One of us ordered the bento box and another the vegetarian roll. Three of us went in on three rolls and I added the sake nigiri.
The first two rolls, Deep Sea and Rock-N-Roll, came with the nigiri. The rolls were badly shaped and falling apart and incredibly small. I couldn't taste much more than mayo. I wouldn't order again.
I grabbed one of the sake. The piece of salmon was HUGE, I bit into it, nothing, was like biting into mealy meat, did not break as all sushi should. I wrestled with it and tried to cut a piece off with my teeth, not gonna happen. I was disappointed and put it back on my plate.
When the waitress came by, I told her to please take, I couldn't eat it and she quickly picked up and said she'd refund... like she knew that would happen.
Next came the titanic roll. It was beautiful, topped with tons of fresh fish and a lot of imitation crab. We just grabbed with our hands cause the pieces were too big to pick up with chopsticks. We all bit in and now my two co-workers agreed the salmon was too chewy/mealy but we all got a couple of pieces of tuna that were easier to eat but still left the majority of the salmon and tuna on our plates. Also, the shrimp tempura in the middle was not fresh, almost like day old tempura they re-heated.
While we were struggling with our mealy fish, and as one co-worker said, "tastes like frozen fish bought at Costco and not fresh", our boss was happily enjoying his bento box, commenting on how fresh his tempura was and he'd gladly order again!!
As we left, two of us discussed later that the few tables we looked at on our way out did not have any sushi on the table, mostly teriyaki and tempura. Apparently they knew something we learned the hard way!
The sushi does not get a star, the bento box accounts for one star and the second was for the service. Our waitress was nice, funny, and offered the refund which was surprising and appreciated.
None of us got food poisoning but I instantly took some pepto to get ahead of it, just in case.
I don't think any of us will be going back... not even for the bento box. -

I found this place a few blocks from my area. I noticed it being a mom and pop shop so of course I had to try it and am all for supporting small businesses.
Ambiance- Fairly quiet and cute. Very low key vibe.
Service- AMAZING, attentive and quick!
Appetizers- they give you this salmon piece on the house cooked/ marinated in a sweet soy sauce. I loved eating it with rice! (I think it's complimentary for every guest)
Sashimi - 12 large cuts for 16.00, I think that's a steal.
Titanic- My goodness, if this were a real sushi boat it would sink. The rolls are huge you can honestly have 2 people finish this mighty roll. The cuts on top of this roll are huge like their sashimi pieces.
I would recommend this place if you're in the area looking for a bite to eat! -

Decent little casual place located downtown Oakland. I ordered a salmon avocado roll and an eel hand roll. Rice, avocado was good but quality of fish wasn't quite there for me. I feel like the pricing was a little high (given the quality of fish) but overall it was an ok lunch spot. I probably wouldn't come back unless I was on foot and really craved sushi but there wasnt a better place around the area .
Also, My cousin ordered the chirashi bowl though , and it was... HUGE! Biggest I've ever seen for sure lol -

Biggest chirashi bowl I have ever seen. It is and would be perfect to share but unfortunately I dined alone for lunch and had to take the rest back to my office. Rice was PERFECT but the quality of the fish was not 100% there for me. The price of $23.00 which is not quoted in the menu nor shown came out to be $30.00 with a 20% tip. I would order something else next time .
Originally gave this place 3 stars but now downgraded to 1... really hate giving establishments one star especially when everyone is so hard working and the service was so great but I have had to go to the bathroom multiple times today :(
